Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame

Become a Volunteer

Are you a history buff? Interested in Delaware Sports History?

The museum is always seeking volunteers and can use your help!

The Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame has volunteer opportunities at the museum, located at Frawley Stadium on the Wilmington Riverfront. The 5000 square foot Museum showcases over 150 years of Delaware sports history. The Hall of Fame, founded in 1976, has inducted more than 300 athletes, coaches, journalists, administrators and officials representing over 30 different sports.

Volunteers are needed as Museum greeters and tour guides to serve the public. If you can volunteer one day a month for a couple hours or more call (302) 425-3263 or e-mail desports@desports.org

Volunteer opportunities also include assisting the Executive Director, cataloging memorabilia and other museum items, as well as working on membership drives and other projects.

Every inductee into the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame since our inaugural year in 1976 is represented on our website. Honoring the athletic excellence of these men and women is an integral part of Delaware sports history.

From our annual Delaware Sports Hall of Fame induction gala in May, celebrations of Black History Month and Women in Sports Month, as well as individual sports highlights, there is something for every sports fan.

A visit to the museum will take you back over 100 years of sports in Delaware, from the Lenni Lenape Indians right up to today. Experience memorabilia, artifacts, and the stories of Delaware legends.

Memberships to the Delaware Sports Museum & Hall of Fame can be purchased throughout the year. Come join our First State Family and have the opportunity to select our next induction class, receive free group tours of the museum, host an event for your family, friends, and business associates, receive our quarterly newsletter, and more!
