Roger Franks

Franks was a world class British backstroke champion in the late 1940s. He won the 75 year age group championship and set 32 national and 14 world records as a Masters swimmer since 1969. Franks
won the Fina World Championship eight times, four world records, won 37 U.S. Masters championships setting seven national and one world record, won 15 YMCA National titles, setting seven national
records, won 15 International championships, and won eight world and four national championships. He holds 32 national and 14 world records. Roger won three Delaware one hour swim championships while
setting one national record and increased his total number of wins to 75. In 1961, Franks won the Delaware State championship at age 34.



Every inductee into the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame since our inaugural year in 1976 is represented on our website. Honoring the athletic excellence of these men and women is an integral part of Delaware sports history.
