The former headmistress of Sanford Prep School was a world class field hockey player who in 1988 became a charter member of the sport’s Hall of Fame. For seven years she was a member of the
All-America team in international competition, and she was with the U.S. touring team four times, twice as captain. She later officiated internationally. Nancy was president of both the U.S. Field
Hockey Association and the International Federation of Women’s Hockey Associations and edited the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Guide.
