“Mrs. Cap” put Ursuline Academy on the high school basketball map during her 11 years as coach. She compiled a 195-40 career record. She led the team to nine state tournaments, winning two state
titles (1974-75) and was Catholic Conference “Coach of the Year” four times (1972-75). Her teams won five straight Catholic Conference Championships (1972-76) and four straight Christmas tournaments
(1979-81). Capodanno’s team won game a between Delaware High School champions and Philadelphia city Champions as well as a game against Federal City at Villanova Field House. Recognition given to her
players included 16 All-State Honorable Mention, 31 All-Catholic Conference Honorable Mention, 31 All-Catholic Conference, 16 All-Catholic Honorable Mention, two All-Area Philadelphia Inquirer, two
All-Star Philadelphia Inquirer, one High School All-American and one High School Academic All-American.



Every inductee into the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame since our inaugural year in 1976 is represented on our website. Honoring the athletic excellence of these men and women is an integral part of Delaware sports history.
