Audie earned eight varsity letters in three sports at Concord H.S. At the University of Delaware she co-captained field hockey and softball teams in her junior and senior years. While at the
University of Delaware she was MVP in both field hockey and softball her senior year, won the Broderick Award as the nation’s top collegiate softball player and was the first recipient of the Alumni
Association’s Outstanding Senior Woman Athlete award. Other awards include the 1977 “Kapa Delta Pi Honor Society” award and the  C. Walter Kadel Scholarship Award. In 1977, the world-champion
Connecticut Falcons of the Women’s Pro Softball Association made her their No. one draft choice, making her the first female University of Delaware. graduate to compete on a professional team. Her
three-year career with the Falcons included a 1979 tour of China to promote women’s softball, conduct clinics, and play the Chinese All-Star team. In 1979, she coached Middletown field hockey and in
1980 was softball coach at the University of Delaware. Audie officiated field hockey and was the 1990 president of Delaware’s field hockey officials. In 1989, she was one of five honorees at the
state’s first Women in Sports Day, and, in 1998 was inducted into the University of Delaware Hall of Fame.



Every inductee into the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame since our inaugural year in 1976 is represented on our website. Honoring the athletic excellence of these men and women is an integral part of Delaware sports history.


From our annual Delaware Sports Hall of Fame induction gala in May, celebrations of Black History Month and Women in Sports Month, as well as individual sports highlights, there is something for every sports fan.
